Poor cast fake IMHO
This is a nickel silver cast fake.

Original nickle silver SS officer in heavy cleaned condition - perhaps a ground dug piece.
Sleeve and prongs are replaced and belong not originally to the buckle.

original with replaced prongs and roller bar. i think it was cleaned chemicaly with acid.

Thanks to all for your replies. We really do appreciate your thoughts, they have certainly confirmed a couple of issues we had with this one. My friend has right of return, so he will do so this week.
