The rivet on the Red Cross Buckle

Hello,
Please, have a look at this Red Cross Buckle, mark is Ges.Gesch.
What do you think about the rivet ?
I mean, it has the granular surface.
does it look untypical for these buckles ?
The rivet on the another side is usual.<O></O>

Can you post pictures of the rest of the buckle?

I would guess that this difference in the rivit is just down to damage while being fitted.

Perhaps one of our more experianced buckle collectors can shine more light on it?

Hello...I dont have any particular problem with the pin end..I think it has some damage to it, and it reminds me of the Assmann style end having lines in it from the flaring process...here is a photo of a ASSMANN HJ early nickel buckle with a somewhat similar look...chad
