    Unusual Belt - Opinions Please

Belts and buckles are not my area of collecting, so please forgive me if this is a novice question. I have a belt with what I consider to be an unusual hook. Clearly, this belt was shortened at some point, but the wear on the hook and the belt show that the belt saw much use after the modification took place. I recognize the L&F marking from K98 sling buckles. Is this a recognized Third Reich belt hook?

    Thanks,
    Brad

As Chad has suggested, the logo stamped on the aluminium catch is indeed that of Linden und Funk.

The catch is not overly unusual and is actually well documented, being found in mainly two forms by the constructional features.

Worthy of note though is that the catch type is often associated with both SS and Polizei straps.

      Regards,

      David
