Original buckle. Any marked SA is harder to find than the unmarked ones. Not rare but I would pay maybe 50% more than the same buckle without the markings.

In response to Henk's question below regarding the maker of this SA belt buckle, I would have responded that the RZM M4-63 code was registered to the firm of Werner Redo, Saarlautern, but I see that someone responded to this question on the War Relics Forum that "...63 as the first pattern RZM code for Steinhauer und Lück, Lüdenscheid." I agree that RZM license number M1-63 was held by Steinhauer & Lück, but M4 was the RZM code section for manufacturers of belt buckles. Of course, M1 was the listing of licenses for manufacturers of metal badges and insignia, and perhaps that was the earlier, pre-M, listing for all metal insignia, including belt buckles?

I think the reason that RZM'd SA box buckles are scarce is that wear of the box buckles was in the process of being phased out in 1933 in favor of the 2 prong open frame buckles. The RZM was still developing and fine tuning the regulations for marking items while the SA box buckles were becoming obsolete.

              Erich is totally right.
The official introduction of the two-claw buckle for several party organisations (SA, NSKK, ...) was in 1934, if I remember correct, and this was the same year when the RZM came into power.

Some makers used in the beginning their RZM M1 registration number to label their buckles. Therefore also in this case:
              RZM 63 = RZM M1/ 63 = Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid
