    HJ Buckle... Need info

Just acquired this magnetic one and curious about it. The obverse is anodized, and the maker is M4/59. Who was the maker and what are these worth? (ballpark).

    TIA

The HJ appears to be steel with a brass plating and then, a final nickle silver plate, although with a fair amount of the obverse nickle silver plating now worn or polished away.

With all due respect, a somewhat unremarkable HJ had it not been for the reverse stampings.

A buckle by Adolf Baumeister with a very distinct makers logo and also style of RZM, which dictates that the buckle would probably be of some interest to the HJ devotee.

    Regards,

    David

Bob...your buckle was made by Adolf Baumeister in Ludenscheid M4/59 your buckle was at one time nickel plated...nickel didnt stick directly to steel well, so they would coat a steel buckle with brass or copper first , the nickel would stick better to these metals...your buckle has lost all of its nickel and is showing its under coating of brass or copper which ever it is...here are some pics of my example of your buckle...hope this helps..chad
