    Assmann HJ markings

An update towards some of the more commonly found Assmann markings on their nickle and nickle plated HJ's.

    Regards,

I think you can fill pages with Assmann markings on HJ Neusilber buckles!
The marking second from top exist in three or more variations, the is also another kind of marking know. "GES.GESCH.(RZM 17)", written in one line.

But don't forget that the third marking is on a Overhoff buckle! There is also a third variation of the double marking, produced by Overhoff as well. This one is harder to find.

I consider that my legs have been well and truly slapped.

          HJ query

          Hello all,
Just a question about the HJ buckle in all its variations -- is there one of the four-tab-roundel variety? Many other buckles exist in that style, so why not the HJ?

Steady Kevin - you will give Chad a heart attack!

I suppose that there is no reason as to why a HJ should not have a four tab attached roundel and also, no reason as to why a "gold" HJ should not exist.

            Regards,

            David

Here is another one. I have unfortunetly no foto of the third known double marking. But it was shown here in the forum a few weeks ago.

                  Thanks Christian

It would be interesting to build up a data base.

Of minor note, all the markings that I have shown are on either solid nickle silver or plated buckles with a "U" catch, rather than the wide brazed bar type that you have submitted.

                  Regards,

                  David

David, as you probably know, I tried to build a data base for all HJ buckles.
But it is nothing for a weekend, it is a life time task! I lost a few hairs just for the Assmann buckles!

The variations are uncountable, particular in the "Neusilber" period.
The foto shows four variations of one variant! Big "A", small "A"- large "17", small "17"- feet catch, U catch.........

                    Regards,
                    Christian
