Opinions Heer Generals Brocade belt and buckle

Picked this up yesterday, would like opinions, looks good and I've looked at a few posted here in past threads, belt shows VERY light age and the buckle has a little wear .

The one thing you have to worry about on General officer brocades is that some unscrupulous person took a normal Army officer Heer brocade and gold plated the buckle/attachment. With that being said your buckle is quite shiny. All of the General officer brocades I have seen have more of a muted gold finish.

Thanks Gary, I was under the impression there are two types muted and shiney, 🤔🤔

                      Hi Fritz,

There might be 2 versions but, in my experience, I have not seen a shiny version. I would examine the stitching on the end of the brocade that holds the keeper to see if it has been redone. If so that could indicate that the keeper was removed/replaced after plating.

Gary, I inspected the stitching and even black lighted it and no flags that I could see. The interior of the buckle is a dull matted finish like the buckle you showed and the outside is shiney.

                          Fritz,

Are you using a flash with these photos? Can you take some photos in the daylight as your brocade looks to be more Diplo; i.e. black stripe rather than green. The buckle looks OK to me but if you can get the photos in daylight rather than flash will help immensely.
