    SS Belt Question

Aside from having an SS paper tag or an SS stamp on the leather, is there any other difference between a Wehrmacht belt and an SS Belt?

I have only seen paper SS RZM tags on SS pattern Brocade belts. It is very rare to find leather belts with original SS marking. Most black leather belts were interchangeable. The catch can give you a clue to the time period. Nickel then aluminum and then steel. I own a black cloth backed dress belt so the could be SS or Panzer.

Thanks for the info klr, I appreciate it. So is it fair to say that since black leather belts were used interchangeably then there really is no true SS leather belt aside from those that are stamped with original SS markings?

That is fair to say. You also have to be careful with SS marked belts. Lots of original belts have had markings added post War.
