Thoughts on SS EM Belt Buckle?

    Hi all,

I'm not an SS collector however I ran into a SS, EM belt & buckle combo. I'm mainly a Heer collector but cant pass on a good deal and would like your thoughts on it.

      I think it a fake.

This marks does not correspond to original Overhoff
      .

The design of an eagle at
      Overhoff is absolutely another.

Could you possibly submit a full image towards the reverse of the buckle.

        Regards,

        David

Vlad said it all. The eagle design is the one used for most latest East European reproductions, whatever they could be marked. This design never existed pre 1945.

            Hi guys,

The buckle is an image I took off of a web site and these were the only pictures the dealer had. This seems to be a pretty good reproduction. How do you tell the difference between a good one and a bad one?

I have posted another buckle to see what you all think.

Maker markings. Question, how much do you think an origional buckle would be worth in this condition?

                Thank you again, Steve

                  Dear Steve.

                  You show two different backles

The first buckle a fake, the second original

I so think, but the moderator has the main word

                    HI Steve:

There are a lot of variations in the fakes as well as the originals so it is really hard to explain everything to look for. Some of the fakes are good, some excellent and some pretty bad. I would suggest you join Jean Pierre's SS buckle forum on Yahoo (of which I am a member) which is free and read the information there and look at the pictures that show both fakes and originals.

                      Thanks guys.

For now, I'll stick with what I know, Heer.

                      Cheers. Steve
