what do you make of this buckle?
pristine, repainted, genuine, fake ??

I am not an expert on these, but I am assuming it is a newly made fake.

the finishing is not original, buckle itself seems a cast fake but it is difficult to say due to thick paint layer.

Honestly I cannot see the cast flaws, but as said thick paint hides all.
Good closeups are needed.

Hello Forum Members,
I had this buckle posted for sale. I looked up the records on it and found out it came from Charles Warriner who sells on German Military Collectibles under the seller name:
COMBAT RELICS (screwing people over since 1976).
I want to notify new collectors and remind older collectors THAT ANYTHING PURCHASED FROM HIM IS TAINTED. IT IS EITHER FAKE OR BEEN ALTERED SO HE CAN MAXIMIZE HIS PROFITS.
Please do not buy from him, he is one of the biggest crooks in the hobby.
Please learn from my mistake that was made many years ago. And to people who have seen this on my site, I APOLOGIZE with all sincerity.

I have bought some stuff from him at local shows and never had a problem but he does get butchered in the thread on dealers to avoid.

It is YOUR choice as to whether or not you buy from him.
But he is such a good con man, that you will sooner or later
regret something.
And since he is a true SNAKE buying from him, just perpetuates
his con artist greed.

I am not defending him. He has a lousy reputation and I am sure he has earned it. There is a difference between buying on line and a face to face deal. Thanks for posting the warning. Collectors need to be informed about the good guys and the crooks.
