    Help with HJ Buckle

    Hi All,
I don't know much about Belt Buckles. I have been going through the Forum for information, could you tell me if this is an early Hitler Youth buckle, as I am starting to make a collection of Hitler Youth items.
    Regards mike c.

      Hi Mike,

it is an original HJ buckle worn during the first years, not one of the very early buckles.
      Is it magnetic?

      Christian

        Hello Mike

As Christian has confirmed, original HJ buckle and probably dating from the mid 1930's. Great pronounced stampings though, with RZM M4/23 for Dr. Franke und Cie.

        Regards,

        David

            Hi Mike,

If magnetic, it is stamped of nickel-plated steel, i.e. according to the 1935 regulations. The 1934 regulations specified nickel sheeting. Unfortunately, so far been unable to find the exact dates of later regulations for aluminium, zinc and silver-painted steel (in the manner of the Wehrmacht buckles). Or did you strike gold in the meantime, Christian?

            Regards,

            Kal
