      Blaine Anthony Leamon,

This is not a personal attack against you, please stop thinking that. I did not get your images from the Linda Mae militaria website, somebody else posted them on facebook.

Thank you for posting additional photos of the buckle but unfortunately it only furthers my doubts that it is an original.

I believe your buckle has many traits that make it a reproduction and I will go into it further and more in-depth for the sake of education if so requested. This is a pretty good fake but as they say, the devil is in the details.

Here's some authentic buckles. The differences are obvious.

Study the eagle's head, the maker mark, and the top of the prong sleeve for starters.

while I don't want to go so in depth that the fakes and the scammer out there gets so good with these reproductions here are some things that don't make sense and I believe to be wrong on the buckle that was first posted.

Belt buckle looks fine to me. I am looking forward to the hardcore buckle collectors chiming in. Looks like a typical aluminum buckle. "Injection molding" is casting. Looks fine to me.

This is the first aluminum SS I ever owned. I got it in the early 80's and I am sure it is original. I am sure you are not going to see the flaws William is pointing out.

I saw this one posted for review on another forum and I believe it to be a fake. When I stated I believed it was a cast reproduction the opinion was publicly criticized. In my opinion, there are numerous casting flaws on this particular buckle. Other members also pointed out that the overall color of the aluminum was incorrect (though a noble attempt) as well as the shoulders being too deep when viewed from the reverse. I believe authentic RSS buckles utilized a different prong sleeve as well, didn't they?

At any rate, for the sake of learning I would appreciate a confirmation either way, thank you!

                  Hello William,

I confirm you're right, by the pics the buckle appears an obvious fake.

I don't have doubts about this buckle, it is a cast copy of the heavily faked 822/37 type 2 buckle
