              Hello Chad,
What a haul!! Were there any other interesting buckles at the show? Any "Holy Grail" rarities?
I have a question on the unusual gold HJ buckle -- is it myth or reality? If real, what does it signify? The HJ Marine seemed to have worn silver insignia, not gold, like the KM.
              Cheers,
              Kevin

Good grief Chad - what a selection!

Congratulations and I hope that the new project goes well.

It is difficult to ascertain which buckles could be of very special interest, so why not drip feed a few of the more unusual, every other day or so.

                Regards,

                David

Any early markings with KH or RZM and a single number?

                    Great haul Chad!
I take it you may be writing a book?

Hello to all...I am going to try and answer a few of your questions with one reply.....I have still never seen a real gold HJ buckle, and can only impart what I have read in Angolias book, in which he states that the gold washed and anodized buckles were for HJ Marine...I have seen a few reproduction gold HJ buckles though....I was surprised to see the amount of repros that I did at a show as prestigous as the SOS...about 50% of the dealers that had buckles had a few repros mixed in with there real ones...I even saw a few of he lost wax cast buckles , which were very convincing until you held them or measured them...the rarest buckle I saw was a MINT reichbahn in die struck aluminum with a crimp catch (for $350) which I think is a very fare price for that buckle with that rare catch!!!....there were NO dealers who were specifically selling buckles, but about 1 in 4 had a few buckles at there booth..there were plenty of variations of army and luft, some veterans assoc. and SS..all in all not a bad selection...in regards to the book someone suggetsted, yes, that is my intention...I hope to do a very in depth focused book on just YOUTH buckles (HJ,DJ,NSDAP YOUTH).....so, if any of you have any spare HJ ,DJ buckles around please give me an opportunity to check them against my need list before selling, I am in the market to buy MANY of these buckles...thank you..chad
