Kriegsmarine German Navy buckle for review please

Hi to all,

I just got this buckle from the son of a Kriegsmarine man.

Looks like a privately procured piece to me because it's not the typical Kriegsmarine / Wehrmacht type.
The medallion is placed on it by two soldered points.

I think it's brass material...

Any further opinions on this one?
