        I have looked at this buckle really closely now and don't see any sign of the actual keeper bar being removed and replaced, this makes me think that the bar and prongs are the original ones.

        There are small scrapes and knocks to the hook that holds the keeper in place but this consistent with impact from the opposite keeper as the belt is being fastened in my opinion.

        I have taken some detailed pictures- what do you think?

            Patrick,

            my concern is not only for scratches on tongue side facing the catch but those on the opposite side.

            There are no reasons for them in such position by a normal wear
