As having earlier indicated and by a previous thread, this HJ buckle is in my opinion, an ouright fake. Actually, I know that it a fake.

The exact style of buckle, by the eagle design, crank catch, claw type and shiny silver paint, is a now documented fake and originally, seen with various Assmann stamps. Interestingly though, the latter included those only found on the early nickle silver or nickle plated HJ's.

The buckle now is appearing with other stampings and including the one that you have shown.

In addition, some appear with a spurious RZM label (as per yours) and which actually, is a pure fantasy piece.

Again, so sorry to advise that this buckle is a fake.

        Regards,

        David

A suggestion that it may be a sound idea that before you return this buckle, you wait for other responses from the Forum members.

            Regards,

            David
