Ernst Schneider "ESL 42" Heer buckle for review

Hi, I have this buckle on the way. Looking at other posts on the forum, the "L" stands for Ludenscheid where many buckle makers were based?

Also, from the condition I'm guessing it might be unissued?

    I hope you like it!

    Regards, Paul

Great looking buckle. Hard to find a nicer one. The paint is making it hard to see the circle around the trade mark but it is there.

          Thanks KLR!

I was looking for a mid-war Heer buckle in good condition and a lot are rusted, heavily worn etc. I suppose it comes with the territory for steel buckles (70 + years etc)! I found this one at Malcolm Wagner's site in the UK, he has a decent selection of buckles if anyone wants to take a look:-

He's also a very decent and honest person to deal with in my experience.

          Regards, Paul

has a little ware on the catch so i guess it was used but not abused.

Hi Mac, thank-you, well spotted! Of course it's also possible it's had a belt on in the past and been on and off mannequins at various points over the last 74 years since it was made. These darned collectors, always playing with stuff!

              Best regards, Paul
