SS Aluminum 36/39 opinion

I acquired this while stationed in Germany in the 1980s. It has a small ding on one side and looks like wear to the front. Sitting in a box for the last couple of decades. Sorry about the photo of the makers mark. My camera seems to autofocus on the claw and bar. Opinions? Thanks
