I do not think that any buckle collector could be anything other than staggered by this quite spectacular and enigmatic buckle.

The detail of the emblem is wonderful and I think that the polished nickle silver with frosted nickle emblem, has much more of an impact than the "gold" version.

Why on earth though that shipworker (?) oik is wearing one of these buckles and featured in the Catella publication, is quite beyond me.

Nice one, harder to upgrade! They are getting very hard to find, just sold my last spare gold one this weekend and don’t expect to find another one soon. As for the Catella picture… until a year ago I also swore by this picture but since I have (probably) changed my mind…. Not very clear this picture…and Catella used tricks to illustrate his book (manipulating pictures, fakes, etc…so they would fit his text) so I’m not so sure anymore that the ship worker “Oik” …. Is really wearing such buckle… could be anything else too….<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

I've enjoyed this beauty for almost 15 years, but due to my retirement it is time to find it a new home.



As I'm out of touch when it comes to buckles can anyone give me an idea of a fair price to ask for it?


I also have the gold version (not pictured here), what sort of price for that?
