LW Tropical Green Buckle for Review

Is there any chance this is legit? I don't like the details of the eagle and it makes me hesitate. What do you think.

    thanks

        Gene,
I understand there is also a green shade to the LW belts in addition to the blue. Is this one of those or a repro?

It doesn't look very green. A outdoor shot or a side by side with a blue finished Luftwaffe might help here is a couple I have.

Assmann made buckle, the paint seems to be dark green

              tropical

              Hello

Your buckle is an original Assmann buckle.
Assmann made the most of the LW buckles together with Aurich.
If you compare your buckle with an early 1940 one, still with the leather tab, you'll see differences. The quality isn't the same anymore and the same happens with the quality of the paint.
Assmn produced buckles with web tabs, but the paint of the buckle was more blue.
Don't forget that blue buckles like yours are also used on web belts.
So, IMO not the typical tropical paint but more the quality of a buckle used after 1942

              Take care

Thank you all for you comments. I see the tropical tan buckles command a very high premium, and a nice dark blue steel buckle perhaps $85-150. I have not seen many green ones for sale and feel $265 asking price by the seller is a bit high...

                or is it fair?

IMO, a green luft buckle is worth between 400 and 600 euros. Dealers want more. I know a local big dealer who has one tan N&H 1942 for 800 euros ...for 2 years without any succes in selling....

Thanks for the information. The link you sent from 2012 is for the very same buckle, with new photos taken after 4 years. I will pass on this one, and once again, thanks for the assistance.
