Strange leather belt markings, help me ID it!

Hi Guys!

Came across this leather belt from a good friend of mine who asumed this is Kriegsmarine related caused by the marking: M 9/42 found near the catch. Its manufactured by Schafer Ulm. 1941 Size:92 with a gothich letter K stamped on the inner leather tab for the buckle.
Cud some one tell what this belt is?

Leather items are not my forte, however in the absence of any othe reply or replies, here goes !

Friedrich Schafer of Ulm/Donau was a recognised Third Reich leather strap and leather pouch manufacturer and apparently, carried the code lhl (credit to Peter Nash).

The "M" does appear to be a Marine or Kriegsmarine type and the 42, presumably the year of make. As towards the 9, I have not got a clue.

Hi all, I was away for a few days (Stockholm, -6, snow, beautiful) I have no idea of the marking on the belt, first I thought it might have be a wrong RZM marking (RZM 9/42) but it is not. Marine??? The belt should have an eagle / swastika, but it could be......

Hello!

I have gone over the whole belt and there are no traces of a KM eagle or other KM or politic markings.
Gothic M letters is to my experience mostly used by Kriegsmarine, does anyone have notice this used by others?

I think that Michael has put forward an interesting and plausible alternative. It has however been mentioned to myself and by someone who is not a buckle collector, that the stamp we are discussing, has nothing to do with the maker. Instead, a Marine unit or depot designation as opposed to a KM WA.

I have a Coastal artillery chevron which have been stamped with month and year, so it maybe that this is simply the short term for: Marine September 1942.
Still I found it strange since the only known KM markings on leather is BekleidungsAamts for Kiel and Wilhelmshaven (BAK, BAW) and unit stamps on early manufactured goods.
