The "Leader" type buckle is not my cup of tea, however I think that this M4/116 (the very rare Camill Bergmann u. Cie) buckle and being based on the well known C T Dicke design, is a fake.

Hopefully I will be proven wrong !

          Regards,

          David

Nothing wrong with this buckle. The M4/116 is a bit less common than the M4/22. The High Leader buckle has not been faked that I know of but I have been out of the 3rd Reich buckles for over three years so things nmay have changed.

David and Bill, thanks for the replies and opinions! I'm not sure about the buckle, the grey metal claw is putting me off but I suppose the original could have been replaced with this one.
Its showing signs of having a frosted background, would they have bothered with this on a fake??

              Any more opinions?

              Cheers

Dave, I can not say for sure if your buckle is good or not.

I just want to say a few words about the HJ leader fakes. They are unbelieveable good! I had one in hands (RZM M4/22) and I was not able to identify it as fake!
They appear with several markings (M4/22; M4/46; M4/116 and possibly with M4/119) as well as unmarked.

Everybody who wants to buy a HJ leader buckle, be very very carefully!!!!

I will take a look if I have a photo from a fake buckle.

                Regards,
                Christian

                  Christian/Dave,

I was not aware that the fakes of this buckle were that good. Have never seen one so have nothing to compare it to. I took another hard look at the prong bar.The color does not bother me but I am not sure I like the shape of the prongs or the sleeve. Again this could just be based on Christians comment.
Sorry I can't be of more help. If you are intertested in a good HJ leader I have one in silver on copper M4/22 that I have owned for over 15 years and know is good.
