Aluminium repros????

Hey...I was wondering. How safe is it to assume that reproduction buckles do not come in aluminium? Has anyone seen aluminium buckles that are reproductions? Thanks for any info you can give on the subject.

Yes, there certainly are repro aluminum buckles. There are a number of different repro / fake SS buckles out there and I see on one of the dealer sites that there are now very good looking repros for heer, LW, HJ, and some other organizations available to the general public. You can't really assume that any particular WW2 German buckle is not being reproduced... you need to do your homework, it's that simple.

there have been a few threads not too long ago about aluminum repros including one thread that showed a whole new family of aluminum repros...use the search tool and check the forum for "repro" you should find what you need...chad

Hello and welcome to the forum,

Please go in the belt and buckles forum to the "search this forum" box on the top right and type in "fake aluminium buckles" or" fake aluminium SS" or "fake LW " or any other of these words and you will see plenty of treads come up with the information you are looking for.

I concur with the others...there are a new generation of copy alum. buckles..with the catch cast in...I have not viewed any in person, but have seen pictures...they started with the SS but have moved to the common pieces...I believe the quality is overall good from what I have seen in the pictures...the good news is that they have not YET flooded the market here in the US...John

If one take the time to do some research on this buckle forum, you will see that many members and myself have posted many treads on the subject of Aluminium fakes of SS ( all models, EM and officers, HJ, WH, Red Cross, LW both models, SA Werhmanshaften, etc…<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

These fakes have flooded the marked for several years as well in Europe as in the US<o></o>
