I am new to belt buckle and recently picked up this Luftwaffe.

I would appreciate any comments on this piece i.e real or fake and whom might be the maker.

    Thanks, Al

      Hi Al,

That Luft buckle is as real as they come. Probably dated '41 or '42. That oval stamp on the leather tab will have the maker and the date.

        Hello Al,
Yes, I know these are the same photos. I forwarded your message Sunday 09/01 to Marc (as I said I will since I am taking care of questions related to the SS only) and I received his reply the very next day (buckle is perfectly original). As usual I discarded his reply without forwarding it to you since Marc usually replies to both senders, the original (you in that case) and who forwarded it (me in that case). So look like for whatever reason you didn't received his message ?!

I am sorry and apologize for my error but I strongly believed you received his reply along with those good news concerning your LW buckle.

        Best Regards
        Jean Pierre Redeuilh

          Hello All,
I have send you the message below to your private e-mail adress a few days ago!

          Hello,
The bleu Steel LW buckle shown on the pictures send is 100% original, probably Assmann 1941.
          Regards,
          Marc v.

Thanks Willi, Marc, and Jean for the help and comments.

Marc, the belt is stamped "1942" & within the circle is written "Ludenscheld" as well as "Assman & Sohne".

            Cheers, Al
