Both, the buckle, Overhoff made, and the added and obviously not matching NOWA marked leather tab are originals.

              Thanks

Thanks- the buckle probably never had a tonque right?
Would the right thing be to separate the tonque from
              the buckle?

              Thanks

Some steel buckle (especially later ones) never had a leather tab. (production of leather tab was stooped 1942/1943, during leather shortage in TR)
I think hat it would be best to leave buckle and lather tab in these state. By removing leather tab you can only cause damage on him.

Overhoff Heer buckles of this green/gray color should be an early war, it had the Overhoff leather tab. Late-war Overhoff (without tab) are usually blue or silver paint.

... and of course, as Ivan stated, the NOWA tab is original but added to the buckle.

                        Removed

I have decided to remove the tonque as I feel it's possible it never
had one, and it was wrong anyway. It was easy and no damage to Buckle or
                        tonque.

It have the green paint under.

Think it's look much better now

                              Think it's the right decision
