    Schmoller u. Cie - Menden

Every so often, I pick up a SA/NSKK buckle where someone has attached a spurious leather tongue, either for cosmetic reasons or as an attempt to increase the value of the said buckle.

Normally, these leather tongues are re directed straight into the waste paper basket.

This one is a little different and perhaps unusual.

The Menden company of Schmoller (fir tree logo and non RZM?), however the faint trace of a M stamp.

    Regards,

    David

At the risk of admitting just how dim I actually am, how can you tell that the tongues have been added later?

      Cheers

I have never seen per se and furthermore know of no publication, which gives reference to an in simpatico and original Lederzunge in relation to a SA/NSKK buckle. I would suppose however that there is no reason as to why a leather tongue should not be attached, although (unfortunately) never encountered in my experience.

Would be interested however if anyone has a SA/NSKK with such an attachment.

        Regards,

        David
