    H J - Dicke?

An early and nickle silver HJ.

No makers mark and instead, GES. GESCH. in capital letters.

The eagle design however looks like C T Dicke to me.

    Any thoughts?

    Regards,

    David

I would greatly appreciate your comments on this one chaps, however and in the meantime, attached is a gaggle of which I think are Assmann, rather than Dicke heads.

      Regards,

      David

        Hi David,

        it should be Assmann.
I think I had the same variant, but there was also a "A&S" under the prong bar.
I have unfortunetly no access to my computer in the moment to my regular computer. Otherwise I would post a pic.

        Regards,
        Christian

David, Christian......I have this Assman & Overhoff buckle that looks strikingly like the one you have posted David...it also has the GES GESCH (all in capitols)
you probably cant see it in my photos, but the tool marks on the prong sleeve of Davids and mine match also!!! the solder material also has the same color...I dont know, but there are alot of similarities...chad

              Points taken Chaps.

My initial thoughts were that this HJ was Assmann, although the detail (other than the stretched Assmann neck), appeared remarkably similar to a M4/22 HJ that I have.

Did anyone manufacture the early nickle silver HJ's other than the well documented Assmann/Overhoff?

              Regards,

              David

                        Chad

                        A great and early HJ by R S & S.

The more that I look at these HJ roundels, the more they seem to be be appearing very much alike and not at all distinct or specific to a particular maker.

Perhaps Christian could chip in on this one.

                        Regards,

                        David
