              Hello,
are there traces of green/fieldgrey paint under the gold paint???
Many makers made gold KM steel buckle and Assmann was one of these. But in general, gold paint was applied directly over steel (and NOT over an already painted WH green buckle). IMO.

PS. the prongs and sleeve look green painted...

              Regards

                  hello

Yes it is because of verdigris corodé to this place and not green paint

                  thank you

Did Assmann use paint on their KM buckles, rather than fire gilding? I haven't seen many KM buckles from them in person, so I don't know if that feature is common to Assmann, but this one looks painted to me.

                        hello

I think Assmann and Overhoff were the only one to paint their loops.

CTD also had painted KM buckles. The few I have seem were 43 dated. The early ones were fire gilded.
