In my opinion, it's an original RODO buckle.

Buckle looks to be a good RODO.
I have some doubts about the prongs.. seems to be very crudely cut, but might be only the picture.
Leather tongue added during its use.

Most of the RODO buckles I've seen seem to have these ugly prongs. As for the tab, who knows? It might have been added recently, or during the war.

I've never own one, but I've heard there are lots of fakes out there?

I wouldn't know what to look for if it was fake.

Please keep the opinions coming on this subject and I appreciate all input.

100% original RODO type 1, with added leather tab

Nice original buckle. The fake RODO buckles are easy to pick out. Check out the fake SS sticky thread. I think the prongs are OK but they look a little shiny. Here's the back of a couple in my collection.
