    Police 1st Pattern Brocade Question

Recently I've been asked to look at 1st pattern police brocade that has me a bit stumped, so I have ask to post pictures here to see if someone else might have some input on the markings, construction, etc.

This is another one of those 1st pattern police brocades that has the silver sliders but this one has a stamping on the leather tongue with an M & eagle/swastika & RE below that. Seems like I've seen this marking possibly discussed before but I don't recall where offhand. Other noticeable details include the darker catch and the darker green backing material.

Some thoughts being these examples with silver sliders are manufacturers variation unique to a single maker, postwar assembled from original parts for the souvenir market, and made for other organization uses.

        Hello,

IMO buckel and brocade looks original .

But sliders looks like have the design from a police parade bandolier .

Stamp like this never seen bevor on a belt .

I for one would love to know if these belts are right or wrong, there seems to have been a few discussions on them in the past, but no definate fake or original answer. I'd like to see a period picture, that would clear it up, either way the buckle seems to have been married up with the belt as it doesn't match the keeper, which seems very dull and it appears the slides will always be a head scratcher, maybe they are just postwar put togethers from leftovers. I really don't have a clue.

I have seen these belts before and I believe them to be postwar assembled from old and new parts. I recall them being sold, without a buckle, for around $35. as such some years ago. As mentioned, the sliders are not correct. The stitching is poorly executed. The backing color is wrong. The "proof" mark has no place on a private purchase Police Officer belt and should not be there (and is not a Police inspection mark anyway). Three strikes and you are out with me.

              Hello,
as a brocades-collector for decades I totally agree with SCHUPO. Also IMO a fake (except the buckle).
              Best regards, Thomas
