      Both are original. The one with the web tab looks like Hermann Aurich, and the other one looks like BrĂ¼der Schneider.

        Hi Belten, thanks for the reply.

        Isn't it strange that the webbed tabbed buckle has the swas filled in on the back and then painted? On the gray buckle the swas is visible from the reverse.

          Well, both buckles are original without doubt. If I had to guess, I'd say that the top one was filed and the bottom one was hammered to remove the swastika. That would explain why one is visible on the back and the other is completely obliterated. It's pretty common to see them both ways.

              Here is an update.

              After cleaning the back with a soft toothbrush and soapy water to remove the dust and surface rust, i was delighted to see the maker's mark of Hermann Aurich
