    OLC Luft Officer

Here is a buckle that I bought from Unique Imports, Inc. back in high school -1979. They sold repro and original? militaria and advertised this as original. (See scanned image of original ad.) I have my doubts! Does any know anything about these buckles and if indeed they are original or postwar made by OLC? I paid, as you can see in the ad, a whopping $14.95 plus shipping. Did I do good with my lunch money or should I have stuck with the pizzaburger?

    Thanks for your time!

    Mark

    Mark,

I have been told that the wings should never touch the border. I also don't think that the back of the buckle is mfg. in the correct style. I think it should be more of an oval and less circular. In my opinion this buckle is a reproduction.

As a matter of fact, I once owned this same type of buckle and sold it to a man as a reproduction for over $100. I assume he turned around to someone and made a profit off of it.

Sorry Mark, but I have a very bad feeling with your buckle. I think it is a fake.
I know Overhoff produced this buckle (except the eagle) for a long time after the war. Some fakers 'added' NSFK or Luftwaffe eagles in the center.

But you have a very interesting catalog! Is it possible to show a close up from the SA buckle?

The buckle is indeed a repro. The eagle is not correct and there should also be more than one attachment point on the back.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>
