Steel WWI mod. 1915 "ersatz" buckles, they come in one piece and two pieces. Getting very hard to find these days, nice fakes are also seen on the market since a few years.

Mod 1895 buckle I found in the wreck of a German WWI U boot of the Belgian coast.

Being buried in the oxygen poor sediments for 80 years has preserved the item perfectly; cleaning has actually done more damage than the sea. Interesting detail is the DRGM marked prong sleeve.
I sold this buckle in 2001 to a US collector who kept asking me for it, I was very sad about it afterwards as it was a unique souvenir but luckily I could buy it back last year when the collector needed $ for something else.

            Hi Marc,
Very nice serie of buckles, I enjoy.
Is it be possible to have detail of the KM stamped in the leather tongue of the mint alum buckle RS+S ? It seems to exist to types of stamping eagle+m (minuscule) or eagle+M (majuscule). And they usualy came with 1938 dated tongue. Is it right?

              Marc,

Super thread, many thanks. Could you please show a close-up of the acceptance stamp on the tongue of your M-95?

Does anyone have any hard info on the "fouled anchor surmounted by M" acceptance stamp used on some Reichwehr Navy buckles?

              Thank you in advance.

              Karl

In addition to this series of pictures of Navy buckles, I post hereby a nice set belt and buckle model 1895 that I picket up at the last SOS. Interesting is the name on the belt. They took their time in these days to make it look nice. I was glad to find this set as original imperial sets, especially navy / colonial are hard to get. This one is obviously a parade version wit shiny belt.

I have a early leather belt for WWI Imperial navy buckle I guess. The leather has a Crown with a letter M underneath, I presume this is Imperial Navy? And the catch is in brass. Is this of interest for any of you Gents? Im not collecting WWI navy stuff only WWII. See the photos.
