DLV or RLB?

Here is another buckle I just obtained, is it DLV or RLB? These really confuse me. It appears to be silver over brass.

Hi Jody:

The buckle you have is an RLB...it has the slightly down turned wings. The DLV buckle has the straight outstretched wings.

I also notice that my buckle is missing berries at the top of the wreath and your's does not.

Jody...The RLB(yours), had 2 variations between buckles with different number of berries...some had 16 some had 20 ..the one with 20 has a berry at top...yours is a 16 variant..chad

Just a small "spanner in the works" comment.

There is I think a strong feeling by some collectors that these buckles and irrespective of displaying either horizontal or downswept wings, have no firm designation as DLV or RLB.

Instead, either design could have been worn by DLV or RLB persons, to include also, early Luftwaffe enlisted men.
