Need some advice

Hi all,
I have a Heer uniform and I want add a belt to it.
I've seen on the forum here a belt and buckle but without tab.
Do I need the tab to attach the belt to the uniform?

A tab is not necessary to attach the buckle to the belt. In fact, toward the end of the war, buckles were produced without tabs to save leather.
