Combat or Parade Buckle ???? Help Please

Hello, any comments on this buckle is appreciated. Is it a parade or combat buckle??? Carlos

    Hi coleccionista1,
although I'm no buckle expert this one looks like a standard aluminium combat buckle of the type used from the pre-war years to about 1940 I believe when stamped steel buckles began to replace them. Also, Parade buckles (aluminium or zinc) would have a different catch arrangement at the back, and would generally not exhibit much wear. Yours is worn and looks like it's been on the Assault course or used in the field quite a bit!

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in!

    Regards, Paul

Agreed. By the way, your buckle was made by Louis Keller in Oberstein.
