Quick help needed please. Police Generals Buckle?

Hello fellas, I need some quick help please. This belt buckle is available to me. I don't know if it's Water Protection Police or a Police Generals buckle. The buckle is void of any markings but the outer rim, lettering, leaves, & swastika are all fireguilded. Since fireguilding has been universally outlawed since 1945 I find it had to believe it may be bad.

Your thoughts and approximate value would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Chuck

Judging from the photograph the one I posted is just the same, albeit you can't see the back.

        Hello Chuck,

I do not think that one by casting as previously stated and would love to check it in hand.

You are correct. The buckle has been die struck. The face of the buckle shows stippeling around the swastika but other than that there are no casting pock marks etc. The only thing cast on this buckle is it's keeper. It's great looking in hand & very well done.

            Hello All,

            @Ric...the buckle is a fake.
There are fake with different pin support.
These buckles are also small if I remember correctly.

            Best regards

                Hi all

Not much of a buckle guy, it belongs to a friend of mine. The thing is I also handled it along with Chuck, as a badge guy it appears to be fire gilded.

If fake it is rather well done, I do not know buckles all that well but do know as a medals guy fakes are usually not fire gilded.

Here are some better pics, still hard to capture the gilding.

                Cheers
                D

I would think thats a different maker?

Again Iam not a buckles guy but Iam familiar with fire gilding.

                      Cheers,

Chuck, Just compare the oak leaf and acorns detail. Night and day. The buckle you are considering has virtually 100% gold but no detail. This is not how the Germans made buckles for German General's.

I see great detail on the buckle, i must be losing my eyesight i guess. I think the one Munster pictured looks better then the real one. Was there only one maker on these buckles, could this one be earlier made and better much quality?

The buckle KC posted is a gold painted aluminum Water Police. Every Police Officers buckle I have owned has been aluminum. Here is four fire guilded National Forestry buckles for comparison.
