Source for GOOD repro SS Officer buckle?

Anyone know of a good source for the best of the best? I simply don't have the funds for a real one but I make my own belts and want to put together a display rig. If anyone knows where a very good repro is available I would appreciate it.

    Thanks, Jerry Burney

You should just check out the Bazzar table. I sold one a few months ago for $20. Enough people post fakes on the buckle forum you can make one of them an offer. I usually take a look at the fakes at the Reddick table at the SOS. I think they sell them for $50-75 but why support a repo company.

Because you don't have $2000 for a real one?

Personally I'd rather go without then buy a repop but that's just me.

No don't get me wrong, I have 2K. But I collect Lugers. Two thousand will buy a VERY fine Luger pistol. I can't bring myself to spend that kind of money on something I don't collect perhaps depriving me of something I do collect. Besides, on something like a belt buckle..most people can't tell a cheap repro from a real one. I do collect original enlisted buckles and have paid as much as $900 for a rare one. But two grand? I'm not crazy or stupid hence my quest for a repro. In general I detest reproductions as well.. but since German Imperial Navy Luger holsters run about $2500 I made my own. It suits my purposes and I can sleep well knowing I have an EXACT copy, made just as the Germans did. I made the belt this buckle will go on it won't be original either. I am no purist..until it comes to Luger's. Luger pistols cannot be made in the average shop so an original is the only way to go.
