Justice Official's Belt Buckle - is it real?

Looks original. There's some high quality repos of some officer buckles but I don"t believe they are making quality repos of these. This buckles can also be Prussian Forestry.

        John,

I agree w/Kirby. Either Police or Forestry but for some reason not a lot of collector interest in either service.

While my photo and buckle isn't the quality of John's it appears to be identical.

I've been recently told that mine is: "You have a second pattern Nazi justice aka prison officer's buckle." Does anyone take exception with that description?

I'm not sure the significance of "second pattern" if any. Does "second pattern" vs "_______ pattern" impact value?

also, any insight into what appears to be corrosion on mine?

          thks

Pretty sure the first buckle shown here is for a brocade belt and the second for leather.

The kind of Prussian style eagle is the first pattern. The second pattern is a politician style eagle and swastika. I don't believe justice or prison had a brocade belt. The National forestry had a brocade but I don't recall ever seeing a State Forestry buckle on a brocade.

you guys are beginning to embarrass me with the quality of your buckles and clarity of your photos. here is what I hope is an improved photo to help the cause.

                    thks

Original buckle but the corrosion is going to cut the value.

KLR: the second pattern eagle is NOT politician, but state!

Thanks for the correction. I guess I need to research the proper terminology. I have all of your excellent cap books and I am sure you cover the differences.

                          All the best

unless I've missed something I don't think we have a consensus as to the identify of the buckle (the 2nd one with the corrosion). if I'm wrong let me know plz.

                            thks & Happy New Year!!

The buckle looks original, in my opinion. The gold color means it is either a Prison/Penal or Prussian State Forestry. They used the same design.
