    Sudeten buckle

    Hello all,
    Does anyone have any information on the so-called Freikorp Sudeten buckle? It is usually bronze or brass with a hammered surface and the letters "FS". It is made in the Czech style with the catch being a folded-over brass hook.
    Also, I have a WWI German officer buckle in brass that has the Kaiser crown with the dangling ribbon thingies on it over the "W". The Baden-Oldenburg buckle has the Kaiser crown over the "W" but without the dangling ribbon thingies. German troops in China had a cap badge with the same crown and ribbons. Any ideas?

    I don’t know much about those "SUDETEN buckles” buckles.
    I know there are lots of fakes of them; the fakes came out together with all the bogus Austrian buckles. Catella describe the buckle in his book page 438 as been nickel on brass. I also have seen photos of this buckle been worn. The ones pictured below are in my collection for more than 15 years and they must be original. Sorry, I cannot help more; I would also appreciate all information about those buckles.

      The monogram are the first letters of "FREIWILLIGE SCHUTZDIENST" or volonteer protection cervice (SS)

        Kevin, Colonial officers (& other ranks) wore the naval buckles.
