    Interesting buckle SS officer set...

    <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

    This set, sold by a German dealer has the particularity of being (most probably) a genuine set. The owner repaired the buckle by screwing a nut into the buckle so he could continue to wear the buckle/ belt. Questioning the origin of the item with the dealer I must say that I believe the source at 99%. A post war collector repair would have been done differently and better and dé-nazifying the buckle this way makes absolutely no sense. <o></o>

    The buckle has been repaired with a piece of metal to be able to continue to wear it. looking at the stretched keeper, no wonder the buckle catch broke.

        I think that "interesting" suggests an element of under statement here. A super combination set, albeit that it has a bl**dy nut and bolt projecting through the swastika!

        The question now I suppose is "should it stay or should it go" - the nut and bolt that is.

        I would elect for the latter!

        Regards,

        David

          In this case, I vote for the last one also. Taking the nut of would left just a broken buckle. Like it is here it has a story you can see and feel. Personaly I love the piece.
