Fake versus original RZM 36/42 SS

    Hello All,

I recently noticed a big increase of fake 36/42's for sale at different places. This fake SS buckle is not especially new by itself but its distribution was seldom and mainly restricted to Europe until recently.
But now it is everywhere and so, I guess it is time to warn new collectors before they are going to spend their hard earn money.

So, I am going to post several photos of originals and fakes. Original 36/42's (made by the Overhoff firm in 1942) were made in two variants. The main difference between those two was the marking itself. Detail of front (design) remained the same. For this reason, I included close ups of the two original markings.

For the fakes, there is two different available to the public, even if the second (more recent) is just a re-work of the first and originates from the same country. The first one should not fool any old member in this Forum since it is still the same fake we see with either markings RZM 155/40 SS, A&S, O&C ges.gesch., RZM SS 35/36, RODO, etc ...

Anyway, ANY difference you could note between the originals and fakes is a good point since for the reader since there is enough differences to please everybody.

Fake (Recent re-work of the older) Back

NOTE: This photo shows the unmarked variant, but it can be find (so far) with either RZM 155/40 SS, either RZM 36/42 SS.
The fake RZM 36/42 SS marking is the same as above.

Since there is an increasing request for those buckles (like: is that buckle original or fake?) I think it could help to bring back to live thIs older thread. I will make an update with new photos and new examples in a short while since there has been unrevealed another variant/type.
