Is this buckle original?

I know just about zero when it comes to German militaria and I would appreciate any help on this belt buckle. The clasp hook is broken and I don't see any markings on the buckle. I tried to compare it on-line to photos of others like it but the ring around the inside on the rear is different than any of the others I saw.

Any input would be appreciated.

Officer buckles are not my field of interest but this one looks like a basic fake very far from the originals.

Not Authentic Period

Most likely post war cast aluminum reproduction. If you ever see any of these with the SS inside a diamond within marked back of buckle that is also a giveaway as well. Hope this helped
