    Unissued Assmann HJ buckles

I recently acquired this unissued Assmann HJ buckle, and I'm now wondering if some of the members here might have any of its counterparts. Here is mine, with serial number 196595:

Here is another one that I found on the forum, with serial number 196573:

Does anyone have any others? These two are 22 numbers apart, so it seems as though there must be at least as many out there. Maybe they were found at the Assmann factory after the war. Also, does anyone know how many buckles were packed into a box at the Assmann factory? I've read that the number is 24, but I don't know whether or not that information is accurate.

I forgot to include that this buckle is of nickel-over-steel construction.

nice buckle, thank you for sharing! I will have a look, but I am fairly certain that I hold one of these as well. Did yours come wrapped in a thin paper ? Many times, the manufacturers wrapped the individual buckles in paper before packing them into the box. There have been a few different HJ buckles that have been found in bulk in unissued condition. The one that stands out in my mind is the HJ aluminum by Julius Kremp- it is marked IKA.

Thanks, Chad! Nope, this one didn't come with paper, but I'm sure there was paper on it at some point. I'd love to know the serial number on yours, if you have one! Out of curiosity, do you have one of the Kremp buckles?

I will dig around late tonight and see if I have it. I do have the IKA buckle. I have about 40 Hj with RZM tags. The most common with tags are aluminum and zinc.

Excellet; thank you! I look forward to it.

I've seen a lot of steel and zinc buckles with the tag, but not that many aluminum, nickel or nickel over steel examples. I think that's because more of the late war buckles were available after the war in unissued condition (in factories, shops, etc.). I saw one of your older posts in which you show a zinc buckle with all the finish remaining. It was very impressive.

Thanks, Chad! Yours must have been from a different 'batch' with that serial number.
