Anyone ever seen a clasp like this on a belt? The belt really looks genuine and definitely smells and feels very old, but i have never seen this clasp before. Opinions please!

lHere's one from my collection. It's an RBN MFG'd belt. Unlike your earlier dtd. Nothing rare about them. The only thing I find odd on your belt is the year. These to my knowledge are considered late war or mid war at the earliest. Undoubtedly a nice original belt you have there, nothing to worry about.

Thanks so much for the welcome and the post. I really felt good about the piece , but your pic got rid of the jitters. I tried to post the mfg and date stamp

no problem with this belt.
This squared hook, usually mounted on web/DAK belts, can be also find on leather belts (1st type and more often on late war 2nd type).
