    Need Info on buckle

I recently came across a buckle exactly like the one on the top left of this forum. It has a leather belt dated 1938, while the inside of the buckle has SRM. Can someone identify?
    Thanks...

Hello and welcome to the Forum.

Are you making reference to an Army buckle?

The "SRM" is a tad confusing and I wonder, do you have any images of the said buckle?

    Regards,

    David

Those urls ran together and are actually three separate pics. http://users.snip.net/~krcar/buckle1.jpg.

          The 2nd one: http://users.snip.net/~krcar/buckle2.jpg.

          And the 3rd, http://users.snip.net/~krcar/buckle3.jpg

            Thankyou for posting the links.

A pre war Army buckle and a die stamped aluminium type.

An original buckle, although being in a tired and somewhat worn condition. If you are thinking of buying this buckle, I would give it some more thought unless of course it is very cheap. This buckle per se can be easily found and in much better condition.

I have no idea who "SRM" as the maker is, although I am sure that other members of the Forum will elucidate.

            Regards,

            David

I don’t recall seeing this maker before.

The buckle is indeed not nice but the maker is interesting. If the price is right still worth taking for the maker. Let me know if you have it, I could use some good pictures of the markings.

Thanks guys, and Marc, I will have available pics since I did buy it. I'll have those out before the week is done.
                Thanks again,

                  Hi Marc,

Sorry this took so long, had a little hospital stay. I've posted a couple pictures of the maker. They can be seen at http://users.snip.net/~krcar/buckle4.jpg and another at http://users.snip.net/~krcar/buckle5.jpg. Hope this helps and am curious as to the value.
                  Thanks again,
                  Steve

                    Hello Steve,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

                    <o></o>

The marking does not make the price of this buckle; (only the value of SS buckles is dependant of the markings). The value of your buckle is the same as of any other WH buckle in the same condition.<o></o>

OK, I lie, for someone who collect buckles by maker (like me) and don’t have this maker, it might by worth a few $ more but this is not a rule. <o></o>

                    <o></o>

                    Marc
