    Early DAK Officer's Belt

Hi guys, i got this from another forum member and i am very excited

It is my first tropical officer's belt and i have a few questions though.

I read in the forum that the officer's buckles and the metallic handles on the belt were made of zinc. Does this go for all of them or just the late war pieces?

This is an early "1941" marked. The buckle and it's handle have an olive green colour with a brownish hue. The other handle that the buckle is attaching to is also made of aluminum and has a rather chocolate brown colour. The buckle is made of 2 plates. The outter one is made of aluminum whilst the inner one is made of zinc. I have marked the photos to see what i mean.
Belts are not my field so i would appreciate some input here.
    Thanks in advance
    Chris

            Hi on:

The key word I asserted with DAK officer zinc buckles is "typical." I don't believe we know everything there is to know about them.

However most were typically zinc so not necessarily a deal breaker you have there. The roller on the prong bar is rather shiny and doesn't seem normal for this type of belt.

Hi guys, thanks for your replies and opinions.
The roller should also be painted and not in shiny nickel?

I did a search in the forum and found more officer's belts with aluminum buckles and zinc backings. Check this thread out:

Also these two are made of aluminum. Unfortunately no photos of the reverse.
