    Scharnhorstbund

    A trio of Scharnhorstbund buckles.

Not the most attractve or interesting of buckles, although still worthy of note.

    Any other variations?

    Regards,

    David

              Beautiful buckles

Great collection of these beautiful, handsome buckles.
Thanks for sharing them.I think either Weitze or Kai Winkler recently had/has some varieties of this buckle on site...

                    David,

I'm very jealous of your 05/06. I think we had the discussion in another thread before, and I showed my identically-made Pfadfinder buckle in that thread, but aren't they absolutely alike?

                        Karl

Without wishing to be the foundling member of the Ortmann-North mutual appreciation society, I too am very found of the one that you have so kindly posted. I think that they belong to each other!

Others in this distinct "youth" series of course and by this particular and unknown maker, although they seldom appear.

Apart from the obverse similarities (in particular the "mottled" detail background to the emblems), the reverse of each buckle is exact.

The brass ridges are quite distinct and also, the style of spot soldering.

What do you think is the significance of the solder "smudge" ?

Very strange and I am sure that it does not cover a third hole.

A super enamelled inset buckle and of course, very, very rare.

                        Thanks for the response Karl.

                        Regards,

                        David
