Where do I need to go to get an SS buckle question answered? Is it more appropriate to post in the buckle forum, or is there another site I should visit?

I don't see anything here that causes me any concern.

The markings on these wartime buckles leave a lot to be desired, but the consensus is that they are original.

Yes, he should throw in the rest of the uniform! I just had not seen the OLC SS buckles without a "circle depression" around the area where the markings are, so got a little concerned.

Guys, this is a horrible fake!
However, many originals, (especially of this year), did not have the circle around the markings, so that is not one of the problems.

Thanks for the weigh-in. Can you give me the top indicators that jump out at you? Shape/form of the markings? Different bird than the OLCs of that period?

Well, where can I start?

First, the outer rim on the back is way too thick and it is not beveled like it should be, but instead, the rim is just flat.

The crimps are very bad.

The swastika is too big and it's arms are too square and flat.

The oak leaves are incorrectly shaped.

I would recommend you join Jean Pierre's SS buckle forum and read up on these...there are many varying levels of fakes on these and there is a lot to know...JP's group is great.
