    HJ Buckle and Belt, opinions?

    Guys,
Does anyone know this maker of the belt?
It looks like new, shortened 80 cm, stamped "Poeschl Röhrbach 1941" and with ink
    on the inside "P O 42", on the catch I believe "O&C"?
The buckle is marked "RZM M4/59".
Is this combination good, bought it as genuine set...

    Thx Fonzie

      Hello,

While it seems your post is concerned with questioning/confirming the original relationship of the buckle to the belt, I really can only speak specifically to the two independent of one another. Both buckle and belt are original period items. The buckle is a die-stamped aluminum example by Adolf Baumeister. Alumnium buckles were produced from approx. 1936-1939, with a succession by nickel-over-steel. This then places the accompanying belt dated 1941 as a later production. That all being said, it is still plausible that the buckle & belt were coupled later but still within "period" bounds.

Hope that helps & all the best.

        That sure helps Adam!
Thank you for your explanation, it sounds reasonable to me.
Glad that both items are genuine, did not find info on this maker, making those belts.

        All the best, grtz Fonzie

          hj belt

As stated that as a good original buckle and belt from ww2 hard to say about being together. Usually a belt marked with a PO is a police property mark so it is possible this was a police issue belt. The maker is real readable and not often found or readable on belts. Regardless good original pieces. timothy

Great to find out more info this way.
Guess I have to go for a police buckle... :-)
Could be a set, maybe the father of this HJ child was a policeman..we'll never know..
            Regards Fons
